Cookie Policy
Effective Date: May 7, 2026
Last Updated: May 7, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how 8ANDH ENGINEERING SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED, operating under the brand name Talent Navigator and the platform WeRemoteDevs(“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on weremotedevs.com and app.weremotedevs.com(collectively, the “Platform”). This Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the Platform to recognize your device, remember your preferences, and improve your experience across sessions. Similar technologies — including local storage, session storage, and pixel tags — serve comparable purposes and are also covered by this Policy.
2. Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Platform to function and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to actions you take, such as logging in, completing an assessment, or adjusting your privacy preferences. Without them, core features — including secure login, session management, and proctored assessment integrity — cannot operate.
- Authentication tokens: Keep you securely signed in to your Candidate or Client account.
- CSRF protection tokens: Prevent cross-site request forgery attacks during form submissions.
- Session state: Maintain your progress and answers during technical assessments so data is not lost on page refresh.
- Cookie consent record: Stores your cookie preference so we do not ask again on each visit.
2.2 Performance and Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Platform — which pages are visited most, where users drop off during assessments, and how effectively our matching features perform. All data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
- Google Analytics: Tracks page views, session duration, traffic sources, and user journeys on the marketing site.
- Internal telemetry: Records feature usage within the app (e.g., assessment completion rates, profile view counts) to help us prioritize improvements.
2.3 Functionality Cookies
These cookies remember choices you make to provide a more personalized experience. They are not strictly necessary but improve convenience.
- Preference storage: Remembers your timezone, language, and display settings across sessions.
- Onboarding state: Tracks which onboarding steps you have completed so we do not show you steps you have already finished.
2.4 Proctoring and Assessment Integrity Cookies
When you undertake a proctored technical assessment on the Platform, we set additional session-scoped cookies to support assessment integrity. These capture tab-switch events, focus-loss signals, and session metadata used to generate your proctoring report. These cookies exist only for the duration of the assessment session and are deleted when the session ends. Disabling them will prevent you from starting a proctored assessment.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by third-party services that appear on our pages. We do not control these cookies. The relevant third parties and their purposes are:
- Google Analytics — web analytics (see their Privacy Policy).
- Razorpay — payment processing; sets session cookies during checkout (see their Privacy Policy).
- Vercel — infrastructure and performance monitoring cookies set at the CDN edge.
4. Cookie Duration
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies remain for a set period — typically between 30 days (analytics) and 12 months (authentication and preference cookies) — unless you clear them earlier.
- Proctoring cookies are session-scoped and deleted at assessment end.
5. Your Cookie Choices
You may control non-essential cookies at any time through the following mechanisms:
- Cookie Preference Centre: Click “Cookie Settings” in the footer of any page to update your consent choices for analytics and functionality cookies.
- Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies via their settings (e.g., Chrome → Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies). Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will impair Platform functionality, including the ability to log in and sit assessments.
- Google Analytics opt-out: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics across all websites.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in the technologies we use or applicable regulations. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
