We’re seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to help lead the next generation of frontend architecture — improving performance, scalability, developer productivity, and reliability at scale
As a technical leader on the team, you’ll partner across product, platform, and infrastructure to guide architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and shape the direction of the frontend at Slack
Lead cross-functional frontend initiatives to improve performance, scalability, resiliency, and developer productivity
Design, maintain, and evolve core frontend modules — including Slack’s WebSocket infrastructure, boot process, Redux/React layers, logging, and alerting systems
Drive key architectural decisions that adapt our frontend infrastructure to meet evolving product and platform needs
Identify and resolve communication and alignment challenges across teams and stakeholders
Represent and advocate for frontend technical strategy at an organizational level

Familiarity with persistence layers, service workers, caching strategies, and offline functionality
