Applied AI Engineer

About the Role

Ohmyweb is a web agency we build modern JAMstack sites and web apps for clients, plus maintain WordPress sites as a secondary line of work. We're hiring an Applied AI Engineer to help turn client requests into working solutions using AI-assisted tools like Claude, Cursor, and ChatGPT.

This is a logic-first role: you don't need years of coding experience, you need to think clearly, break problems down, and know how to direct AI tools to get correct, working output. We'll teach you the rest.

What You'll Do

• Build websites and web apps on modern JAMstack tooling (static site generators, headless CMS, serverless/edge functions) using AI-assisted development tools

• Maintain and troubleshoot WordPress sites when needed plugin conflicts, performance, broken layouts

• Convert client requests and Figma designs into working pages

• Write effective prompts and manage AI workflows to get reliable output, not just fast output

• Use Git/GitHub to track and manage changes

• Test your own work before it ships catch problems before the client does

• Pick up new tools and technologies as projects require

What We're Looking For

• Strong logical thinking you can decompose a vague request into concrete steps

• Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or similar) and willing to get much better at it

• Basic grasp of programming concepts, Git, and databases

• Self-motivated you check your own work rather than assuming AI output is correct

• Good communication you can explain what you built and why

Nice to Have

• JAMstack experience (Next.js, Astro, headless CMS, Vercel/Netlify) or general full-stack dev

• WordPress experience (themes, plugins, troubleshooting)

• Figma-to-code or API integration exposure

• A portfolio, freelance work, or personal projects you can show us
